Instructions for ILS E-Mail (Registered Users)

(Under Construction, but you can look at it anyway)

NOTE:  For new users, be sure to do 2 things before sending e-mail...

1)  Update your account's password using the 'Other E-Mail Settings'

2)  Set your E-Mail Address on the WebEdge OPTIONS Page

September 8, 2000: Outlook will receive but cannot send e-mail

There are 2 cases here.  These involve OUTLOOK and not WebEdge.

THE FIRST case is if you are dialing an ISP and can receive but not send e-mail.

Try to set the SMTP server for your ILSonline.com account to be the same as the

SMTP server for your ISP e-mail account.  Then e-mail PostMaster@ILSonline.com

describing your problem, your ISP and if this 'work-around' worked for you.

THE SECOND case is if you are connected to the e-mail server through our intranet,

that is via a Network Interface Card and NOT dialing.  The e-mail is probably being

being blocked from being relayed.  Contact PostMaster@ILSonline.com  for repair.

August 31, 2000: AOL Browser will not change password, Use IE

If you are connected to the internet using AOL and you want to change your

password, you must bring up Internet Explorer.  IF you use the AOL Browser

it will NOT change your password.  We are searching for a better solution.

August 10, 2000: How to get this to operate at the office

If you have an appropriate LAN connection at the office, you can use WebEdge

and Post.Office, but you need to be on Windows 98 and set Internet Explorer 5

to Bypass the Proxy for *.ilsonline.com; *.pkoh.com; *.arden-fas.com

August 1, 2000: Error when Replying to LastName, FirstName:

If you receive an e-mail from someone whose FROM address is formatted like

"Smith, Joe"<smithj@computer.domain.com> and you try to REPLY using WebEdge

you will receive an error message.  This has been reported to the WebEdge people and

will be repaired as soon as possible.  In the meantime you'll need to manually take the

comma out of the name shown in the TO Address before you SEND the REPLY.
